Kids & Youth

Jesus loves children, GCC loves children! Children are a blessing to our church family and we try to provide different ways for children and youth to engage with life at GCC.

Sundays

On Sunday mornings our children and young people spend the first part of our time together with the adults as an intergenerational church family, before heading out to their own age appropriate groups.

These groups–for primary aged children–provide space for them to explore, grow and flourish in their own faith. These are fun, varied times with a range of activities and games linked to our children’s ministry curriculum.

Our children’s ministry curriculum aims to give children the opportunity to learn and understand who God is and how he is involved in our lives and world today, as well as providing children with the space to explore, ask questions and seek God in their own way.

Our Groups Are

Unique

Pre-School Children

Space is provided for parents to supervise their children while they play, as well as share a Bible story together in a safe, relaxed environment

Light

Reception – Year 2

Infant age children meet together with their leader and helper for a mixture of Bible stories and Bible themes, discussion, craft, prayer and games.

Treasure

Year 3 to Year 7

Junior age children, with Year 7, meet together with their leaders to explore what the Bible says about their daily lives, using craft, prayer and games to learn together.

Youth

Our youth join in with our adults on a Sunday morning, learning and serving together, and then have a dedicated group on a Friday evening. These evenings alternate between youth group time and our youth hangout.

The youth group time takes place in an informal setting and explores real life questions in a safe space, while our youth hangouts are often outside and more energetic! Both activities are open to all our youth (Year 7 onwards) and organised so that friends can easily be invited along.

Little Stars Toddler Group is for all children aged 0-4 years and their parents/carers. It provides a warm and welcoming space for children to learn and grow through play, as well as for parents/carers to find friendship, support and community. The group runs every Friday morning (10:30-12noon) during term time, with a suggested weekly donation of £1 per family.

A typical morning involves free play for the children, craft, snacks, singing and a storytime. There are also refreshments and cake for the adults! This group is very popular and so free tickets need to be booked each week via Eventbrite. If you have any trouble booking in or would like to know more about the group then please contact sammig@gcchurch.co.uk. You can also follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with our latest news. We look forward to welcoming you to the group soon!

Tiny Toes Baby Group is for expectant mothers and parents/carers of babies aged 0-18 months. The group runs every Wednesday morning (10:30-11:30) during term time, with a suggested weekly donation of £1 per family. We know that the early days of parenting can be very challenging, and come with many emotional and physical pressures. Our hope is that this warm and welcoming group will help parents and carers find friendship, support and encouragement to aid them on their parenting journey.

Take a look at our short walkthrough video below to get a feel for the group. It is relaxed and informal, with a typical morning including refreshments, conversation and a short songtime with instruments! This group is popular and so free tickets need to be booked each week via Eventbrite. If you have any trouble booking in or would like to know more about the group then please contact sammig@gcchurch.co.uk. We look forward to welcoming you to the group soon!

Throughout the year we provide different opportunities to regularly connect our communities, including craft mornings, treasure trails, fun days, wreath evenings and light parties! Keep an eye on our calendar and facebook pages for details about these.
